Raccoon Meat Removed From SC Store

If you live near Gadsten, South Carolina and you were hoping to buy some raccoon meat at the Lucky 7 store...you're out of luck.

According to a report from Reuters, South Carolina State food inspectors acted on a tip and ordered that the raccoon meat be removed. The report did not say WHY. You see, there's no law in SC against selling the stuff - but state and federal officials do not certify it as being safe for human consumption.

I live in a part of the world where hunting is common. The more I think about it....
store bought raccoon meat is just weird!

71,000 Jettas Recalled - Honking Could Kill Engine

Volkswagen is recalling 71,000 2011 Jettas. An electrical problem has been found which could cause problems. Here's the scoop from CNN:

Under certain rare circumstances using the horn could cause a short circuit that would, in turn, cause an electronic part called a converter box to disconnect from the car's power supply, a VW spokeswoman said.

The converter box supplies power to various components, including the headlights, wipers and engine controller. Cutting off power to the engine controller shuts off the car's engine.

Now, if only they could rig up a connection to kill the engine when you turn and don't use your turn signal!

Top NYC Hotels Say "Sorry Charlie"

Charlie Sheen has a problem. He and his people can't seem to find a (nice) hotel room in New York City.
His "Violent Torpedo of Truth" tour opens at Radio City on April 8. He's looking for lodging for a crew of 30 and, of course, his goddesses.

The Plaza turned him down. They remember his brief redecorating stint, this past October. The Waldorf-Astoria and the Trump Soho have also shown their disinterest.

Reports are that Sheen is looking into renting a private residence. His people say that part of the problem is that Mr. Sheen requires a place that will allow smoking. (...and snorting and trashing and police action...)

Teen Assults Mom For A Car

Rachel Anne Hachero (Lee Co. Sheriff' Dept.)

Some of you may know that I sell cars for a living. This story is a "new one on me!"

17 year old Rachel Anne Hachero has been charged, in Florida, with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and battery after deputies say she pulled a gun on her mother during an argument.

You see, Rach, according to police reports, was mad at mommy for not wanting to co-sign for a car. Rach then confronted mommy, at home, with a gun and pistol-whipped her head, according to the report. The mother told investigators that Hachero ordered her into the vehicle and demanded she drive to the dealership to sign for the car or she would shoot her.

They went to the dealership where Rachel drove off in her new 2004 Nissan 350z.

Rachel's mother told investigators she did not want to press charges against Hachero, because she had recently been accepted to several Ivy League colleges.

Deputies decided to charge Hachero due to the nature of the incident.

By the way, the gun allegedly used by Hachero in the assault was reported stolen from the home of a Lee County (FL) Port Authority officer in Fort Myers in July of 2010.

I'm guessing that them fancy colleges may have to wait. Rachel's undergraduate work may be at Barbwire College!

911 Firefighter Ad Pulled

There's a law firm in New York City that offers representation for people injured from the 9/11 attack. This is to say that they specialize in 9/11 lawsuits. The adjoining ad was pulled - not by the law firm - but by the ad agency that created it.

You see, the firefighter in the ad, Robert Keiley, was not a firefighter at ground zero, as it says in the ad. The truth is, Keiley joined the NYFD in 2005. He was working as a model when he posed for the ad, he thought that it would be used in a generic fire prevention ad. He was paid $350.

Not a big deal...unless...maybe if you lost someone on 9/11...

Monday Foto - Aria Valentino

It's the beginning of another week and I thought I'd start it with a nice shot of 24 year old Aria Valentino.

She says she is from Venezuela and is a pre-med student in Florida.

Aria is sitting at her computer in this picture...I think.  Anyway, click the image to get the complete picture and have a great week!

Gee, GE Pays No Income Tax For 2010 Earnings

This truely is The Land Of Opportunity! According to The New York Times, last year, General Electric made $14.2 billion dollars, worldwide. Their profits in the USA were a meager $5.1 billion. That's right, GE made $5.1 billion in 2010 and paid exactly $0 in income tax!

But wait, it gets better! The New York Times goes on to say that General Electric received a tax benefit of $3.2 billion!

I suggest that you e-mail this story to your congressman, your senators and to anybody who has an e-mail address. Only a thief could justify GE's tax situation.

I guess this is what GE means by Imagination At Work!

Fat Ho Burgers Opens In Waco

In a world of  golden arches and mundane similarity from one franchise restaurant to the next, it's nice to see a local eatery succeed!

23 year old Lakita Evans opened her little hamburger restaurant in Waco, Texas, this week.  The name of the place is stirring some controversy.  Lakita calls her place, "Fat Ho Burgers." Some of the local holy rollers are not impressed.

Reports are positive. People seem to like the Sloppy Ho Brisket and the Supa Dupa Fly Ho with Chz.

I love seeing a young person enter the business world! There was a time when more Americans would go into business for themselves. This was when we had more energy, creativity and hunger.

We wish Lakita the best of luck.  She's given me additional inspiration for that hot dog wagon that I keep thinking of buying......

Mom Gives 8 Yr. Old Daughter Botox, Virgin Wax

Kerry & Britney Campbell  (Photo From The Sun)

Kerry Campbell says that she wants to do everything possible to help her 8 year old daughter become a star. Kerry is a beautician from England. She's a single mom...and I can see why!

Every three months or so, Kerry gives her 8 year old daughter, Britney, botox injections. (This can't be good...for an 8 year old!)

The Virgin Wax is designed to make Britney, well...less hairy as she passes through puberty.

To me, there's something wrong when an 8 year old checks for facial wrinkles, every night, before going to bed.  Also, I can go on asking about the legality of doing this stuff...but I won't.

If you want your kid to be a star, may I suggest piano lessons?

Friday Foro - Nemoto Harumi

In the spirit of keeping up with current events, I thought I'd highlight one of Japan's greatest natural resources.

She's Nemoto Harumi.

Nemoto is a famous Japanese model...we can see why.

Because Not Enough Women Hate Me

I found the following to be amusing. If you are female, you may or may not see the humor...

Mistake Or Prank?

Take a good look at the mug on the left. You may have to click the image to see what I'm talking about.

If you've paying attention to the upcoming royal wedding, you will notice that we have a picture of the wrong prince on the mug. We see Harry when we should be seeing William. Guandong Enterprises Ltd. is responsible for the slip up.Slip up?   It may have been done purposely. The mistake may "sell" more mugs.

Personally, I prefer the following...

Liz Taylor Dies

Liz Taylor died today, she was 79. She died of congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she had been hospitalized for about six weeks.

If you surf the Internet, today, you will read much about this screen legend - the fact that she married 8 times and that she lived life to the fullest.

She was the most significant actress of her time. I suggest that you watch some of her movies. Serious actresses have been studying her work for decades.

R.I.P., Liz

It's Wednesday and as a brief diversion to the crap that is going on in the world, I'd like to offer you a quick peek at Melissa Debling.

Bieber, Bono & Others To Help Japanese

The music business is doing what they can to aid in the disaster in Japan. Justin Bieber and U2 are contibuting to a digital album from Universal Music. Other artists include Bon Jovi, Lady Gaga, Rhianna and Nicki Minaj. Other artists will be announced.

Universal Music hopes for a global release of the project later this week!

Church Gives Away $1,000 On Easter

There's a church in Hamilton, Ohio that is going to give away $1,000 to two members in attendance on Easter Sunday.

The Lindenwald Baptist Church offered the same incentive last year. They normally see 500 people per week and were hoping that this little bit of hype would attract up to 1,000. It worked, 1,140 showed up.

Excuse me, but this is not why I go to church!
If I want to play the lottery, I know where to go.

Perhaps the people in the church business should remember what business they are really in! The word of God is what you should be giving away.

One more thing, I'm not Baptist, but I always thought that if a church decided to give away money, they should give it to...uh...the poor and needy?

Happy Easter!

Man Brings Beer To DWI Hearing

Keith Gruber

They say that you should never drink a beer during a job interview. You can stretch that to what 49 year old Keith Gruber did at a pre-trial hearing for DWI in upstate New York. Gruber had been arrested on December 27 for DWI. It was not his first offense and between then and now, he was free on $30,000 cash bail.

This week, he shows up in court, 90 minutes late, carrying a black bag containing 4 cans of beer and drinking a can of Busch beer. Witnesses say Gruber was "tipsy."

Judge Frank LaBuda was not amused. Gruber got sent directly to jail, no bail, no beer.

Burrito Price Sparks Shootout

The price of Burritos at a San Antonio Taco Bell was the cause of an eventual shootout, yesterday.

This guy walks into the restaurant and orders 7 Beefy Crunch burritos. The price had been $.99 cents per, during a recent promotion. The price had since gone up...to $1.49 each. The customer gets upset and pulls out a handgun and shoots it at the guy behind the counter. It was a BB gun...and he missed.

Our budget challenged burrito buddy leaves the restaurant and when he gets to his car, he places a handgun and an assault rifle on the top of his car. The Taco Bell manager locks the restaurant's outside doors and calls the police. When the cops arrive, burrito boy shoots at them!

He retreats to a nearby motel, police follow, he shoots assault rifle at police. Three hours later, Police use tear gas to get their guy.

Nobody was injured!

Customer's name is not being released, since he hasn't been formally charged. He is expected to be charged with three counts of attempted capital murder, additional charges are possible.

Two ironies immediately come to mind:

1. The man never did get his burritos.
2. Where he's going, the food is free.

Burger King King's Reign Ends

The Former Burger King King

I thought he was creepy. Well, they had some good ads, some were funny, some were interesting and most were just plain weird.

Since 2004, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, was the ad agency hired by Burger King. Their relationship with the fast food restaurant has not been renewed. That's business-talk for being fired.

Subway has become the #1 fast food chain in the USA. They never had a mascot. Maybe Burger King should look at their menu and their prices.

If they would prefer to have a mascot/spokesman, I hear that Gilbert Gottfried is looking for a gig!  Also, Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan don't seem to be working at the moment!

Tiger's New Girlfriend

Alyse Lahti Johnston (Facebook)

Alyse Lahti Johnston (Radar Online)

Tiger Woods has a new girlfriend. This is nice. According to Radar Online, Mr. Woods has been wooing Alyse Lahti Johnston. She's a 22 year old Northwood University student with just over 1100 Facebook Friends!

Her stepfather, Alistair Johnston, introduced her to the Tiger. He is a honcho at a major sports agency - the same one that represents Tiger. (It's a small world!)

Her biological father is former Cardinal pitcher Jeff Lahti.
Radar Online found a mug shot of Alyse, as she was arrested, last October for DUI.  The case was continued until January when she was found guilty of an improper lane change.  (Daddy must really be a big honcho).
Anyway, love is a beautiful thing and we at the blog hope that these two kids will be real happy if they decide to stay together

Casey The Punisher

Parents, are you raising a bully?
Some of you are. It's not my purpose to tell you how to raise your kids, but I'd like for you to see what can happen to a bully...

Is this justified or not? You don't need me to answer that.

Fiance Sued $63K Over One Night Stand

There are no names in this story. That's OK because I hope you don't know these kinds of people.

A Chicago woman is suing her former fiance for $63,000 in wedding costs. You see, there would have been a wedding, last August, but during the bachelor party trip to Vegas, the prospective groom got a little "frisky" and allegedly did the horizontal mambo with an unknown female.

The would-be bride discovered this in a text message on a mobile phone. (Good God! Did we not learn anything from Tiger Woods?)

Being the optimist that I am, I see a happy ending for both parties. Even if you are wealthy, don't you think that $63,000 is a bit much for one day? If the guy loses the case, he'll probably pay a little less. A bargain!

Do I need to mention that if the guy felt the need to stray, that the homework part of this relationship probably wasn't working out too well. Again, any settlement would be a bargain for...the guy.
