Steven Cowan of rural Vermont, Wisconsin doesn't think that Bristol Palin should continue as a contestant on Dancing With The Stars. Much of the country agrees, but Cowan took matters into his own hands, sort of. He went out and got his shotgun and killed his TV. He then turned the gun on his wife. He ordered her to go and get his pistols. She left and called police. After an all night standoff with the local SWAT team, Cowan was arrested and charged with second degree reckless endangerment. His bail was set at $1,500.
Cowan's wife, Janice Cowan, told investigators that her husband suffers from bipolar disorder and had threatened her life in the past. She told officers that about 15 years ago her husband had threatened her with a machete when he couldn't find some ammunition and has threatened to shoot one of their cows.
Moral of this story, boys and girls: People with mental problems should not own shotguns...AND...Bristol Palin is a ratings "draw." Producers will keep her on the show for as long as possible.
