Today is the first day for legal same sex marriages in New York State.
The first couple to "make it legal" in New York City were 77 year old Phyllis Siegel (standing) and Connie Kopelov, 85 (seated). The two brides had been together for the past 23 years and are from the Chelsea neighborhood of lower Manhattan.
Same sex couples from all over the country traveled to New York to tie the knot. Watching the TV reports, it was clear to see the joy in the faces of each of the newlyweds.
We, at the blog, wish those involved all the happiness that comes with the married life!
