Kevin Richardson of the USA asked himself, "Can we get more people to obey the speed limit by making it fun to do?" His idea involves radar and cameras. Speeders get tickets and people who drive the speed limit get a chance to win a portion of the money that the speeders pay in fines!
It works! In Stockholm, during a three day period, on a "test area" where the "lottery" was publicized, 24,857 cars averaged a 22% decrease in speed.
Could it work "here?"...
