Long John Silver, A&W - To Go...

The parent company of A&W Restaurants and Long John Silver wants to sell the brands.

Yum! brands owns the two restaurant chains. They also own Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Pizza Hut.

Yum's CEO explains, "We do not believe Long John Silver's and A&W-All American Food restaurants fit into our long-term growth strategy."

The truth is, 65% of Yum's profits come from overseas, especially China. The percentage of profits in foreign markets is on the rise and has tripled in 12 years for Yum!

You know, I think that this is all kinda funny. I eat at home...a lot. I brown bag at work. When wifey and I eat outside the home, we go to a real restaurant! These fast food places are OK... I guess... to fill up your belly.

Kentucky Fried Chicken is losing business. Sales in their U.S. restaurants were down 7% for the 2nd quarter of this year. Outside the U.S., KFC is doing very well! How's this for an interesting advertisement move! Women on college campuses are being paid $500 each to hand out coupons while wearing fitted sweatpants with "Double Down" in large letters across their rear ends. The Double Down is KFC's new bunless sandwich, designed to be popular among men. This makes sense to me, if you want young guys to read your message, put your message where young guys look!

Pamela: It's All About The Money!

Vocal PETA spokes-icon, Pamela Anderson travels to Australia to appear on the Aussie version of Big Brother. She'll get $500,000. This sounds like a lot of money, but it pales in comparison with what she could be making if she were picked for a major role in a major Hollywood Movie. Back down under, the principle advertiser for Big Brother is (and I'm not kidding, here, folks) Kentucky Fried Chicken! Anderson has been campaigning for Peta and against KFC for years.
It's funny how money has the power to make us do almost anything.

Oh, one more thing. Pammy appearance on the show did not help ratings. The show has been cancelled!
