Jiaozhou Bay Bridge Opens


It was four years in the making and spans 26.4 miles and it is supported by more than 5,000 pillars. It's the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge. It links China's eastern port city of Qingdao to the offshore island Huangdao.

To put things in perspective, this bridge is five miles longer than the distance between Dover, England and Calais, France - at the English Channel.

This is the longest bridge of its kind, for now. A longer bridge is in the planning stages. It will be built in......(where else?)...China,
