Big time American network news is changing. I'm talking about the case of Mimi Alford appearing on NBC's prime time news show, Rock Center hosted by NBC's chief news anchor Brian Williams. The story is that when Mimi was 19, a student at Weaton College in Massachusetts, she was hired as a White House intern. She says that during the first week on the job, JFK took her virginity and began an 18 month affair, ending when the President was killed.
IT'S ALL IN THE BOOK that she wrote on the subject.Here's what we have: A 68 year old, former groupie of a deceased President. I must admit that she is well spoken. The fact is that she was 19. He was 45, married with kids. The way she tells it, she felt honored or bound by duty to do the horizontal mambo with the prez. What a classy story!
Here's my point: This is the type of crap that I would expect to see in a supermarket tabloid, (or possibly on this blog!) not on a serious network news show. What Ms. Alford did with JFK was not monumental in any way.
She is selling a book!
