Dom DeLuise died yesterday. He was 75.
I think that the man was "born funny!" He didn't have to say much to make you laugh. I never met him, but I met his brother and his family. I became friends with Dom's niece Delores. She and her family lived in Northport, Long Island, NY. They were a down-to-earth family. Delores kept reminding me that she remembered her famous uncle when he was simply "Uncle Dom." Dom was the son of a Brooklyn, NY used car dealer. A family friend had a similar background. That's how I met the DeLuises. They all had a wonderful sense of humor and love for life. I think I join many millions in mourning the loss of a very funny man and a great guy.
