Miss California On Shaky Ground

It started with Miss California answering a question during the Miss USA Pageant. She voiced an opinion against gay marriage. This falls in line with the way that most Americans think. It doesn't, however, follow the popular, hip, progressive way of thinking that the pageant judges think. (Admitted homosexual & celebrity blogger Perez Hilton was one of the judges!) She became the runner up. Most people think that a different answer to "that question" would have gotten her the crown. She could have prefaced her answer by saying something like, "Hey, I'm single - never been married! I'm a 21 year old model from California! Ask me about cosmetics!"

She also has another itsy bitsy problem....the pictures. When she was 17, she posed for some pictures - like the one, here (nice bone structure!). Even though she isn't wearing a shirt, I wouldn't really call this a nude photo.

Donald Trump and the Miss USA/Universe folks are meeting today to decide what to do about this nasty dilemma.

I predict that she will get canned. They need to make an example out of her. I don't think that Trump would be happy doing this, but the organization will say that they are forced to take action.

That's OK. Miss California can move on and become a member of the private sector where she can be free to have her picture taken wearing whatever and where she can exercise free speech. This will open more opportunities for her that the actual title would have.
