Some things are tasteless. These days, the thin line between tasteless and offensive is withering. An immigrants' group is asking (demanding?) that Target remove the "Illegal Alien" Halloween costume from its web site. I agree that the costume is stupid, but I also believe that Target is a privately owned retailer doing business in a free country. This is to say that I firmly believe that stores have the right to sell crap! If we are stupid enough to buy it, well....
Also, if we are truly offended, we don't have to do business with that store, do we?
I'd like to point out that Target, on the same web site, is selling a "Bad Bull Vodka Halloween Costume" - available on-line for $49.99. Dumb, but tasteful. I'd like to go to her Halloween party! Click the picture to get the full effect, unless, of course you are offended by the possible ill effects of hard liquor on the human body, or if you think that the female human body (created by God) is offensive!
