Why Are Greek Frogs Crossing The Road?

I am not making this up. They have been having problems in Greece. The financial mess has been man-made; but what about the frogs? Police said Thursday they were directing traffic around thousands of frogs on the Egnatia Highway about 20 kilometers outside Greece's second largest city, Thessaloniki. They had closed the highway on Wednesday as cars were skidding off the road as drivers tried to dodge the frogs.
Why is this happening? Should we ask Al Gore? The locals think that the frogs are searching for food - leaving one pond and hopping to another hoping for food.

We hope that the drivers will remember to use their frog lights.
