If you've caught any of the World Cup on TV, I'm sure that you've heard a drone on the background. It is a collection of Vuvuzela horns being blown by the locals. The loudness of these things reaches 127 decibels...louder than a chainsaw and not healthy for your hearing. The World Cup people were thinking of banning the horns, but the South Africans say that the horns are a tradition. Legend has it that loud noises, like those from the Vuvuzela, can kill a baboon. The hope is that the loud horns will kill the opposition's sporting skill. I can tell you, first hand that these horns were banned at Yankee Stadium in the mid 60's.
This is all proof that the world is getting dumber and (very soon) deafer.
In a somewhat related note, World Cup fans in South Korea are so excited that sales of condoms have increased 5 fold. It's good to see that the guys are rooting responsibly!
