Normally, I wouldn't bother with a story like this, but since it involves the Internet, blogging and modern American culture, I'll make an exception. Perez Hilton has a blog. He makes a lot of money with it. He even has a corporate sponsor! Well, here goes...recently Hilton posted a picture of Miley Cyrus getting out of a car wearing a very, very short dress. In the picture you could see, well, er....everything. Not a very ladylike moment for young Miley, but maybe she should have thought about this before she got dressed? Hilton should also have known better! The girl is 17 years old and Hilton is being considered for charges of promoting child porn. The sentence could run 10-15 years. This is silly. Cyrus' wardrobe was "silly." I should point out that Hilton removed the objectionable picture from his blog. Both are guilty of bad taste. He wins with gobbs of publicity for his blog, where success is measured by unique hits. (I'm up to 25 a day!) She wins every time a picture of her is posted on the Internet. I think it's troublesome that people like Perez Hilton and Miley Cyrus can make obscene amounts of money while being so tacky! When I was growing up, we called people like these, "slobs."
Don't we deserve better?
Guess not.
