This is kinda funny. The City of Chicago requires motor vehicles which are registered there to have a city sticker displayed in the windshield. Just one problem, they don't stick!
Earlier, this year Chicago accepted the lowest bid from the SecureMark folks. They beat the nearest competition by $300,000! The bid was accepted despite the fact that SecureMark had a quality problem, recently in New York City. The stickers didn't stick there either. Chicago has extended the deadline for displaying the stickers and promises to replace defective stickers for free.
Moral of this story: Sometimes the lowest bid is not the best, regardless the size of the kickback!
