Salute To The Fallen

Lance Cpl. Aaron M. Swanson

Lindsay Lohan was arraigned today on a charge of felony theft. I thought about doing a post on this, but then, really, who the hell cares!

Instead, I thought about some brave young men and women who really deserve our attention.  So far this year, 6 American servicemen (...)
have been killed in Afghanistan. Our most recent loss was on February 7 - Marine Lance Cpl. Aaron M. Swanson of Jamestown, New York. He wan only 21 and was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, Buffalo, N.Y. He perished while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

The other five American servicemen to die this year in Operation Enduring Freedom are:
Marine Cpl. Lucas T. Pyeatt February 05, 2011
Army Spec. Ryan A. Gartner February 01, 2011
Army Spc. Omar Soltero January 31, 2011
Army Spc. Shawn A. Muhr January 29, 2011
Army Spc. Joshua R. Campbell January 29, 2011

I realize that this post may be out of character for this blog. This is not an anti-war message. It is intended to give attention to six special people who, unlike spoiled Hollywood weirdos, truly deserve our attention.
