97 Year Old WWII Vet Faces Eviction

Magnus Saethre is a 97 year old WWII Vet, living in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn, New York. He lives in the same 1 bedroom apartment since 1945. He pays $63.29 in rent and his landlord wants him out. Those are the facts. The case has gone to the local housing court where there is an actual possibility that Saethre, or "Old Man Mike" as he is called, will be seriously SOL. Jack Geula is the landlord. He has been since 2006. He denies that he's "in it for the money." He says that Old Man Mike's caregiver is a nuisance. I'll tell you who's a nuisance - greedy blood sucking landlords - that's who! Neighbors say that Geula has turned off heat and hot water in the past in an effort to get certain tenants to move. Nice guy. Meanwhile, Old Man Mike, the WWII Merchant Marine Vet and survivor of a Nazi U-boat torpedo attack, says that he's afraid of nothing and that he's going to fight. GOD BLESS HIM!

If this were a fairytale, Donald Trump (or someone) would give this guy a Manhattan penthouse for 20 bucks a month.

I have a good feeling about this. Old Man Mike will survive on his own terms!
