I remember it well! Many of us were not around, 41 years ago when "we" first landed on the moon. I'm glad that I was! The picture that you see, here, is an actual photograph of a TV screen, broadcasting the event, live. It was a big deal - in the USA and all over the world. It was viewed as not only as an American accomplishment, but as a human triumph!
To me, this was a unique event. It wasn't hyped like it would have been in today's world. It wasn't enhanced or overblown in any way. Many of us saw the moon landing as a miracle.
The miracle was in the safe return to Earth!
