WTWO TV Heat Wave! Folks in Illinois and Southwest Indiana make sure you stay inside today or at least drink lots of water. Stay safe!
The above is a Facebook entry from a local television station. It tells people that it is going to be hot today. While it doesn't say how hot, it tells us to remain indoors and to drink "lots of water." This isn't shocking, however, I wonder how their advertisers feel about sponsoring people telling thousands of other people to "stay indoors" rather than...I don't know, patronizing the stations paying sponsors? At the least, do we need anyone telling us to be unproductive, simply due to 6 or 7 hours of heat? It usually doesn't get hot until after 10AM. That's OK, we'll all sit on our asses, watch a lot of TV, eat some junk and fatten up!
I know that I'm being a jerk about this. Some things never change.
