The US Postal Service is having a bad year. Actually, they've been having a few bad years. They're $7 billion in debt. Pending approval, our postal service plans to charge 2 pennies more for a first class stamp and 8% more for magazines and a whopping 23% more for small parcels! IT WILL NOT WORK!
How about this for an idea? You limit deliveries to two days a week and charge $0.25 for a first class stamp. Lower the postage price of magazines and small parcels, too. Something creative needs to be done. Two cents increase on a first class letter won't erase the red ink.
They might think about selling corporate advertisements on their stamps and getting into the e-mail business, too!
